You’ll then be able to safely and securely declare any pre-existing medical conditionsusing our sophisticated online screening tool – no need to call a provider or declare your condition in writing – it’s really that easy!
  2. We’ll ask you to enter your details only once and then we’ll share these with our panel of over 40 specialist providers. You’ll then be able to compare the prices and features of each policy, and can even filter your quotes, making it easier to find the cover that is right for you!
  3. And don’t worry If you need to think about your decision, we’ll send you an email with your top quotes. You can then revisit your quotes within 28 days without needing to enter in all your details again (however, prices are live and are subject to change).
  4. Once you’ve chosen the policy that is right for you, we’ll transfer you directly to the insurance provider. There you will be able to confirm your details and make a secure payment. Your chosen provider will send all your policy documentation directly to you.

How does the medical screening process work?

In order to provide you quotes for the most suitable travel insurance, we need to get an understanding of your medical history.

That’s why medical screening is a very important part of the overall process.

In terms of how it works, you'll first be asked a few questions to establish whether or not you need to declare your pre-existing medical condition(s) to providers. If you do, you'll be able to search and add your specific condition(s) and only answer questions relevant to your condition.

This can range from how many hospital visits you’ve had in the last 12 months, to what sort of medication and treatment you need to manage your condition on a daily basis. The answers you provide will help us determine the severity of your condition based on a simple scoring system.

Therefore, it’s important that you answer these questions as accurately as you can - since this will help us to appropriately match you with insurance providers offering cover for your specific needs.

It’s also important to bear in mind the fact that your age, chosen destination and duration of your trip will also impact the quote in terms of the level of cover needed.

Can I trust the Medical Travel Compared results?

Obviously we can’t always guarantee that the quote will remain the same if you leave and return at a later time - as providers can change their rates whenever they like.

Will insurance providers contact me directly?

The only time an insurance provider will contact you directly is once you’ve purchased a policy from them.

In the meantime, while you’re still shopping around, the only communications you’ll receive will be from us. This will include a summary of your top 3 quotes we find based on the information you’ve provided.

Once you’ve acquired your preferred policy, the insurance provider will send across your full policy documents - including the various terms and conditions.

Depending on how you choose to be contacted, this could either be via post or email. Make sure you keep this information in a safe place for the duration of the time you’re covered.
